Hello Everyone (3/28/16)

Well this Easter week was pretty crazy, after going on an exchange up to Rockport, i caught a cold, and so did my companion, right as all the members went to the ward campout up to Lake Texana. So the Devil was trying to Party down here. Not much happened we are still teaching Rockie and her husband and the family. They have all been sick on and off as well, we have been teaching them about the meaning of Easter and have been really bonding with the family. well i will have more to talk about next week! till then -Elder HarKer
P.S. Best wishes to the Elders and Sisters in the Paris, France Mission, Je me souviens!!!

The sweet Gutierrez family posted pics of Elders Harker and Packer.  The Gutierrez fam are from Sinton and came to either Portland or Corpus Cristi to find Elder Packer (He was part of their conversion last year)

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhuit!

Hello everyone,
after the transfers for Corpus came pretty much everyone one went "What? Nobody left?!!!!!" and so im still here in Portland with Elder Packer. We have been working hard changing some stuff up and trying to find more people to teach,
Im super excited for St. Paddy's day so i can wear my nice green Ike Bahar tie! and since Easter is this month its a awesome time to listen to the song "The Foggy Dew" Its a song about the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland. An insurrection (in opposition of Irish men to be forced to fight at Sulva and Sudd el Bar in Turkey) that Lasted Easter week and led to eventual Irish Independence from Britain. 100 years since then its crazy bit of history for ya!
Well in preparation for Easter and the celebration of the Resurrection of the Savior we have been handing out the #Hallelujah cards which have the link of FollowHim.mormon.org So you should all check the video out its very well done! We have been working a lot with Members here and have gotten to know them better and have a little fun as well, We have been working with Rocky who has had some health problems lately. Well Keep praying and have a fun week! -Elder HarKer

Received 3/7/16

well this is the week i will no longer be considered a "greenie" to the mission, the end of my second transfer is today but this time we haven't heard if we are being transfered yet, later today hopefully but idk. This week i went on an exchange with Elder Russel and i was assigned to drive the Portland van! wahoo! but only for Wednesday and Thursday.  So its been good, we got to go to Wataburger and eat with Brother Dement and we saw a few "Studio C" Skits at the Derry's House its been a fun week, I even got a package from Home:) I finished a picture i was drawing and a recent convert Brother Olverra gave me a sketchbook to draw in. We have been working really hard with the members as the work has kinda slowed down but i hear that its the norm for Portland. So ya ill upload some picture from the week but i encourage everyone to think "How can you come closer to the Savior?" ask pray and your week with be spiritually uplifted:) -Elder HarKer

This week (received2/29/16)

with Rocky!

Well this week was a bit different. I went on an exchange with elder Russel up to Rockport and that area up there, we went to dinner with a member and ate pretty well that night, however Portland area has been good still working and still getting to know the area, We have had several dinners with members this past week and we have been working with one investigator named Rocky, shes super cool and a bit unique. we have heard some pretty cool talks on Sunday, one was called "What Lack I Yet?" and it tells us how we should ask God as to what we need to work on personally which will help us in our progression of day to day life. Anyways back to the Dia de Preparaccion till next week -Elder HarKer
