Hey Everyone (received 1/23/17)

Well I don't have time for a lot of news but here is something to quench your spiritual thirst for the week!

sup fam. so got news. the sisters are getting our current area and so we will receive an entirely new area! don't know when things will change but they will be soon. Presi came to Laredo for a few days, we had zone conference, interviews, and a big leadership meeting. We are super close to have a stake and temple we just need to get to work. so far no investigators. we have a few being given to us. feel sorry for the sisters they won't have very much to work off of. got my boxes on Tues. I thought you were gunna send music, but I got the calendars and the Haz lo bien rings

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

I love these words of Isaiah as they speak of the Temple.

We recently had President Torrez come to Laredo to speak on the temple, and if we work hard we will be able to have a temple. We need the influence of the Lord's hand here more than ever, the people like all of us need the blessings of the temple, and with work we may all get to the temple some day.

hello family...super crazy

Hey family so this week has gone by pretty slow. In our small little area we have been grinding door to door all day and nada, but president said this transfer we were going to have to learn to have a great attitude in the midst of opposition. So we have been focusing on that. We don't have much going on and I have like three seconds so I love you all and will let everyone know more in my mass this week...

Well it's been a slow week here, not much going on. I was able to go to get my A1C test done as well as visit Dr. Gibson, we figured that I popped a rib out of place and basically ya I did, I may have cracked it and torn some cartlage as well as hurt my back but it's not that bad.

I don't have much this week but I do wish to talk a bit about the War chapters of the Book of Mormon, which there are many. I have been studying the book of Alma and specifically about the works of Captain Moroni and the attributes of Christ that he possessed. He was a fantastic military leader not of his strategy not of his boldness, but of his love for his enemies always calling them to repentance rather than to unending bloodshed, he preaches no matter who he fought against and he always focused his men on the Plan of Salvation our Lord has for us, it is such a great example as we are in a time of wars and rumors of wars, and its great for me at least to find the silver lining in the tapestry of war

well hope yall have a great time till next week

hello everyone

so again like always I don't have much time but the cool thing that has happened...
  • well lost my keys while we were biking that was annoying
  •  and we have a meeting with president Torres next week or the week after,
  • it also got pretty cold here down to 30 with a wind chill of 10 degrees so it was pretty cold biking but I brought gloves haha take that Texas! your pitiful winters cant kill me!
well, I don't have much time but on a spiritual note I was amazed with the youth here in Laredo, I got to teach about the Godhead (that God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three distinct individuals with the same purpose)(boom that's basically the whole lesson) yesterday to the youth, and I realized at the end of the lesson that some were actually taking notes! notes! I thought that was crazy, like the simplest lesson I taught and these teens had ever learned and they took notes! it just showed me that no matter what is being taught the spirit can still teach us marvelous things if we just listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost.

well that's pretty much it hope ya'all have a great week!

I'm back (received 1/3/17)

hello everyone and I can see Mexico from my seat right here kinda cool!

I'm back in Laredo for the second time in 2016 and have been here to see 3 different years in Laredo 2015,2016, and 2017 with a big break in between. I got here last Wednesday to my Area of Tres Puntos, its a well known area in the mission so i get to come here and help make it better.
My comp right now is Elder Volcanes, whose family is from Venezuela, its a big change from Edinburg but its all good, I can handle it! I don't have much time but i will leave you with this

2017 is going to be a great year, and with tradition we all should be making resolutions, achievable goals for this new year, and one I would like to invite others to focus on is an increased attention to scripture reading particularly in the Book of Mormon because it is the evidence of the restoration of Christ's church and priesthood authority on Earth, reading and completing it will bless your life and the lives of those around you as you apply the principals Christ himself teaches us.
